Must-do topics (with mini-frames)

Reading (Unseen Passage)
• Frame: Skim (title/topic) → underline keywords → answer in own words.
• Tip: For data tables, copy number + unit exactly.

Writing
Paragraph: Topic sentence → 2–3 supports → closing idea.
Message/Email: To/Date/Subject → purpose in 1 line → 2 short points → polite close.
Notice: What/When/Where/Who/Contact in bullets.

Grammar
• Nouns/pronouns, verbs & tenses, adjectives/adverbs, prepositions, punctuation.
• Scan: SV agreement, tense consistency, commas in lists, capitalise proper nouns.

Literature
• For each prose/poem: Theme → 2 details → your line (one-sentence opinion).
• Poetry: name one device (rhyme/alliteration/metaphor) + its effect.

Top traps (avoid + fix)

• “Sounds right” grammar—follow rule: singular subject → singular verb.
• Off-topic writing—underline the prompt verb (describe/explain/invite).
• Quoting lines with zero explanation—always add what it shows.
