Session hijacking is a malicious attack that takes control of a user's web session. It can also be called cookie hijacking, cookie side-jacking, or TCP session hijacking.
In a session hijacking attack, a hacker takes control of a user's browsing session to gain access to their personal information and passwords. This might happen when you're shopping online, paying a bill, or checking your bank balance.

Session hijacking can be done at two levels: Network-level and Application level. Network-level includes TCP and UDP sessions.
