Emergency obstetric and newborn care (EmONC) is a set of life-saving interventions that treat the main causes of death and illness in newborns and obstetrics. 

Basic EmONC (BEmONC) care includes:
Administering anticonvulsants, uterotonic drugs (oxytocin), and antibiotics
Manual removal of the placenta
Removal of retained products after miscarriage or abortion
Assisted vaginal delivery, preferably with vacuum extractor 

Emergency obstetric and newborn care (EmONC) is defined as a set of life-saving interventions, that treat the major obstetric and newborn causes of morbidity and mortality. To assess the level of care, these functions are classified as basic EmONC (BEmONC) or comprehensive EmONC (CEmONC) levels of care.
Here are some other aspects of EmONC:
Basic care: This care is critical to reducing maternal and neonatal death.
Comprehensive care: This care is also known as CEmONC. 

Other types of newborn care include:
Essential newborn care: This includes delayed cord clamping, skin-to-skin contact, thorough drying, assessment of breathing, and early initiation of breastfeeding.
Routine newborn care: This includes a complete physical exam, administration of vaccines and prophylactic medications, safe sleep, adequate feedings, and hygiene of the newborn.
