Food crops such as corn
Energy crops
Waste from forests, yards, or farms
Corn stover (stalks, leaves, husks, and cobs)
Wheat straw
Oat straw
Barley straw
Sorghum stubble
Rice straw 

Biomass is a renewable energy source because we can always grow more trees and crops, and waste will always exist. When burned, the chemical energy in biomass is released as heat.
