Horticulture is the science and art of growing plants (fruits, vegetables, flowers, and any other cultivar). It also includes plant conservation, landscape restoration, soil management, landscape and garden design, construction, and maintenance, and arboriculture.
Horticulture includes the following types: Arboriculture: The study, cultivation, and management of individual trees, shrubs, vines, and other perennial woody plants Floriculture: The production and marketing of floral crops, such as cut flowers, pot plants, and greenery Landscape horticulture: The production, marketing, and maintenance of landscape plants, including lawn turf, nursery crops, shrubs, trees, and vines Olericulture: The production and marketing of vegetables Pomology: The production and marketing of pome fruits Viticulture: The cultivation of grapes, most often for the purpose of wine making
