A vehicle's powertrain is a system that propels the vehicle forward. It includes the engine, transmission, driveshaft, differential, axles, and suspension. The powertrain creates power from the engine and delivers it to the wheels.

The powertrain is the musculature system of the vehicle, while the chassis is the skeleton. The powertrain converts the engine's power into movement.

Most vehicles have one of four drivetrain setups:
Front-wheel drive (FWD)
Rear-wheel drive (RWD)
All-wheel drive (AWD)
Four-wheel drive (4WD)
