Breathing- give oxygen via face mask (preferably bag valve mask 100%). If prolonged seizure leads to suppression of spontaneous breathing intubation may be necessary. Circulation- check for signs of shock and give fluid bolus (20ml/kg) after gain iv access--> or io access. Give abx (3rd gen ceph) in any child with suspected meningitis (stiff neck/full fontanelle) and seizures (after taking blood for cultures). Check blood glicose and give 5 ml/kg of 10% dextrose to any hypoglycaemic patient (less than 3.5mmol/l) vitals every 15mins during a seizure (or after every dose of antiepileptic) and every 30 minutes after a seizure until loc returns to normal. Bp measured after seizure
