Excretory Products and their Elimination topics include: Excretion types, man excretory system, nephron structure, urine formation physiology, excretory system disorders, urine composition and conduction.
Excretory products are waste substances produced by the body's metabolic processes. These include: Urea, Ammonia, Creatinine, Uric acid, Amino acids, Guanine.
The excretory system removes these products from the body. The system consists of: Kidneys: Filter the blood and remove waste in the form of urine Ureter: Carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder Bladder: Stores urine until it's ready to be expelled through the urethra Urethra: Expels urine out of the body The distal convoluted tubule reabsorbs water, sodium ions, chloride ions, and calcium ions. Tubular secretion helps remove substances the body doesn't need, such as urea and creatinine. The collecting duct extends from the kidney's cortex to the medulla's inner parts. It reabsorbs large amounts of water to produce concentrated urine. It also allows small amounts of urea to pass into the medullary interstitium to maintain osmolarity.
