Nucleic acid hybridization: A molecular diagnostic technique that detects the presence or absence of a specific nucleic acid sequence in a sample. It works by binding two complementary single-stranded nucleic acids together to form a double-stranded hybrid molecule.
Digital PCR: A nucleic acid quantification technique that allows absolute quantification without the need for standard curves.
Isothermal amplification: A nucleic acid amplification technique that does not require cyclically changing the temperature to separate two strands of the DNA product.
Microarray: A nucleic acid hybridization technique that allows for the examination of many thousands of genes at once.
Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR): An in vitro method for nucleic acid synthesis that enables the specific replication of a target segment of DNA.
Rolling circle amplification: A simplified, economical, expeditious, and highly sensitive nucleic acid (SARS-COVID-19)-detecting technique.
