A screening library is a collection of compounds or fragments that are screened against a target. Screening libraries are used for drug discovery, lab drug screening, drug target identification, and other pharmaceutical-related applications. 

There are different types of screening libraries, including:
Peptide-encoded screening libraries:
These libraries are made up of small molecules that are built up through sequential reactions.
Targeted and focused screening libraries: These libraries contain drug-like compounds selected by structure-based or ligand-based approach against known target.
ASINEX screening libraries: These libraries are made up of small molecule compounds based on an “iminosugar” scaffold. 

Library screening is the process of identifying the clones carrying the gene of interest. Screening relies on a unique property of a clone in a library.
