Telnet, short for "teletype network", is a network protocol that allows a user to access and control a remote computer over the internet or local area network (LAN).

Telnet's main purpose is to manage devices remotely over the internet or other networks. It provides a two-way, collaborative, and text-based communication channel between two machines.
