Some TQM problem solving tools are:

Control chart: A basic TQM tool that monitors and detects variances in the process. It can increase accuracy, enhance efficiency, and decrease expenses.
Pareto chart: A valuable tool for TQM that can be used to identify the most important causes of problems in any process.
Fishbone diagram: Also known as the Ishikawa diagram or cause and effect diagram, this tool encourages brainstorming to find the root cause of a particular issue.
Histogram: A bar chart that shows the frequency of a cause of a problem occurring. The height of the bar is an indicator of the most affecting reason.
Scatter diagram: A quality management tool that helps to analyze the relationship between two variables.
Statistical process control: A TQM method that improves quality and reduces variation.
Check sheet: A simple but useful process-improvement and problem-solving tool. Their power is greatly enhanced when they are used along with Histograms, Pareto Charts, etc..
Quality circle: A team approach for solving problems and is practiced as an integral part of total quality management in business.
