In Birmingham, bus drivers declined to drive the Freedom Riders. They were escorted to the airport but a mob gathered there. On May 16, a female student at Fisk University by the name of ___ made it known that another group was coming down from Nashville. The Fisk University students who made this commitment had to drop out of school during finals week. They all signed their last wills and testaments before boarding the bus.
