No one is more associated with the origami peace crane than is ___, a little girl who was exposed to radiation when Hiroshima was bombed on August 6, 1945. After she died of leukemia in 1955, a statue to her was erected in the Hiroshima Peace Park. At the foot of the statue is the inscription 'This is our cry. This is our prayer. Peace on Earth.'
