The song of Over the River and Through the Woods -  It is a song that is often sung around Thanksgiving time in the United States. It was originally a poem written by Lydia Maria Child in 1844. The original song/poem about a journey through the woods to visit grandparents for the Thanksgiving holiday contained twelve verses.
