Introduction

The West Bengal government conducts exams through various departments and selects candidates for different positions.

 

1. WBPSC exams
The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) conducts the state level recruitment to fill various posts in the state administration. Divided into four groups (A,B,C,D), the posts in the WBPSC fill vacancies in the police, revenue, judiciary etc.

West Bengal Public Service Commission recruits posts like Civil Judge, Medical Officer, Engineer, District Organiser, Assistant Professor, Auditor, Development Officer, Supervisor, Inspector, Deputy Director and Workshop Instructor.

2. WBCS vs. WBPSC
The West Bengal Public Service Commission conducts the state Civil Services Exam, named WBCS (EXE) Exam. The exam takes place annually or as and when the Commission announces the date. The WBPSC exam is a three-tier examination- Preliminary, Mains, and Interview.
