Our history teacher wanted the class to read Thomas Paine and the Promise of America by Harvey J. Kaye. He said it would give us a better understanding of the man who played a large part in early American history.

Biography: A biography is a history that a person writes about the facts and life of a real person currently existing or who existed in the past.

Autobiography: An autobiography is a piece of writing about one’s own history, experiences, facts and life. The information given in the writing comes from the direct source, i.e., the author. It does not come from an outside source. A good example of an autobiography would be a person’s personal diary or journal.
