    • Standard units (m, cm, km); least count; zero error on instruments.
    • Example: Ruler starts at 0.5 cm → reading 5.3 mark = (5.3 − 0.5) cm = 4.8 cm.

    • Opaque/transparent/translucent; shadow depends on light + object + screen; pinhole camera idea.
