IT operations (IT ops) is the handling of the many processes and services that an information technology department administers.  IT ops covers a range of hardware and software systems, as well as related functions, such as voice and data networking, physical security and cybersecurity, incident response and disaster recovery, audit support, project management, compliance and environmental management.
