Infinitives are verb forms that are used in many languages. They are often used as non-finite verbs.
Infinitives are verb forms that follow the word "to". For example, "to ask", "to believe", "to cry", "to go", "to protect", "to sing", "to talk", and "to wish". Infinitives with "to" are called "to-infinitives". Infinitives without "to" are called "bare infinitives".

Infinitives can be used as nouns, adjectives, or adverbs. They can also be written in the passive voice or continuous tense.
Infinitives can be negative by adding "not". For example, "I decided not to go out tonight".
