Putting fake names in a mailing list. Why? Mailing lists are generally rented for one-time usage. The seed name is really an address or P.O. Box used by the list owner. If the mailer cheats and uses the list twice, the owner gets the mail piece at the seed address twice, and knows that the mailer has violated the terms of the agreement - In other words, the mailer has cheated.
