CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) makes you eligible for appointment as a teacher for class I to VIII in India. This test is conducted by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) and is mandatory for those who aspire to be teachers with schools run by Central government (NVS, KVS, Central Tibetan Schools etc.) and schools run by UTs (Union Territories)2) State TET.
Many states conduct their own TET for those candidates who aspire to be teachers with schools under their control. However, a state can consider CTET in case it decides not to conduct the state TETLevels in TETs.
There are two levels of TETs. A candidate may choose either or both of the tests.
Level 1 Test: This test is conducted for those who aspire to become a Primary teacher (Class I to V).
Level 2 Test: These tests are conducted for those who aspire to become a Secondary Teacher (Class VI to VIII).
