Chemical, Electrical, Electromagnetic, Nuclear, and Thermal Energy
Different types of energy may be associated with systems:
Chemical energy is the energy that is stored in chemical bonds and intermolecular forces.
Electrical energy is the energy associated with the movement of electrons or ions through a material.
Electromagnetic energy is the energy of electromagnetic waves of several frequencies including radio waves, microwaves, infrared light, visible light, ultraviolet light, x-rays, and gamma rays.
Nuclear energy is the binding energy that is stored within an atom's nucleus.
Thermal energy is the total internal kinetic energy of a system due to the random motions of the particles.
