A branch circuit is the circuit conductors between the final overcurrent device (breaker/fuse) and the load(s). A feeder is the circuit conductors between the service equipment or source of separately derived system and the final branch-circuit overcurrent device (i.e., it “feeds” a panelboard/distribution point). In plain terms: feeder = supply to a panel; branch circuit = supply from a breaker to lights/receptacles/equipment.
