This leadership theory was developed by Robert Tannenbaum and Warren Schmidt. It describes seven delegated levels of freedom the manager gives to the team members when making decisions or solving problems. As the manager's authority decreases, the team's authority increases. Progress through the levels of decision-making power is made based on the team and the manager's experience and maturity level.
