Window: Computer-adaptive by section | Sections & timing: Quant (21Q/45m)Verbal (23Q/45m)Data Insights (20Q/45m); total 2h15m + optional 10-min break. Question Review & Edit: you may change up to 3 answers per section; choose section order. Total score 205–805 (sections 60–90, equally weighted).

Must-do topics (80/20)

  • Quant: arithmetic core (percent/ratio/mixture, TSD/work), algebra/ineq/abs, quadratic & DS-style logic, number properties/mods, word-to-equation translation; light geometry.
  • Verbal: RC (structure, inference, author’s stance), Critical Reasoning (assumption—negation test; strengthen/weaken; evaluate), sentence logic/clarity (parallelism, modifiers, comparisons).
  • Data Insights (DI): multi-source reasoning, table analysis, graphics interpretation, two-part analysis; percent vs pp, TAUSL, normalization/per-capita, basic stats.

Top traps (avoid)

  • Burning time early—Focus is tightly timed (≈2 min/Q).
  • Not using the 3-edit wisely: changing on “gut feel” without a criterion.
  • DI: comparing rates with totals; ignoring dual/log axes; averaging percentages without weights.
  • Quant: inequality flips; extraneous roots; unit slips; trying heavy geometry proofs.
  • Verbal: picking “true” but off-task options; confusing assumption with inference.

Time split (per section)

  • Quant 45m: 10–12 min for 1st 10 Q → 15 min for next 7–8 → 8–10 min final; keep 1–2 mins for Review & Edit.
  • Verbal 45m: RC set you like → CR cluster → remaining RC; save 2 mins for Review & Edit.
  • DI 45m: harvest tables/graphics first; leave multi-source long reads for middle.

Last-48h checklist

  • Quant: 60 mixed (ratio/mixture/ineq/abs/TSD/work) using back-solve & smart numbers; 10 DS-style logic drills.
  • Verbal: 3 RC sets + 30 CR (assumption/strengthen/weaken)—write why 4 wrong in ≤5 words each.
  • DI: 6 sets: 2 tables, 2 graphics, 2 two-part/multi-source (practice TAUSL + per-capita).
  • Simulate Review & Edit: practice bookmarking & changing ≤3 answers with reasons (calc mistake, unit, misread stem).

Quick frames & mini-tools

  • Assumption (CR): Negation test—if negated, argument collapses.
  • Evaluate (CR): Variance test—which fact (yes/no) swings the conclusion?
  • Alligation (Quant/DI): ratio of quantities = cross-difference from target.
  • TAUSL (DI): Title • Axes • Units • Scale • Legend; check rate vs count & base year.
  • Review & Edit rule: change only for evidence-based reasons (math/units/logic), not “feels”.

Speed tactics

  • Early pacing: if Q2–Q4 feel sticky, cut losses—protect downstream time.
  • Bookmark logic: mark a Q only if you can state a specific check to do later.
  • Back-solve & boundary tests on word problems; eliminate with units/dimensions.
  • Verbal: pre-phrase for CR; in RC, map paragraph roles then answer line-backed.
  • DI: compute once after unit conversion; prefer ratios; bound answers to kill options.

Exam-day mini-plan

  • Choose your best section first (option available in Focus).
  • Keep a live error tag: (Units/Sign/Scope/Read).
  • Reserve 2–3 minutes at end of each section for Question Review & Edit; cap changes at ≤3 with explicit rationale.
