Glen attended both general education and exceptional education classes in high school. During his IEP meetings, Glen shared his desires of owning his own home one day. Glen’s teachers provided him with opportunities to visit local affordable housing programs and write a term paper on his experiences. After several years of employment, Glen decided to pursue his dream of owning his own home. Glen knew that his low income would present some challenges of being a homeowner. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to apply for a Florida teaching certificate in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) with an Endorsement in Teaching English as a Second language (TESOL) and Reading.

Individuals certified in ESE and who have teaching certification in either elementary, middle grades, or secondary education, are eligible to teach in classrooms for students with learning disabilities, mental retardation, emotional/behavioral disorders, and physical impairments, as well as in general education classes.
